Strong points

• 45 participants from Cohort 1 Kitchen of Hope / Mutfakta Umut Var (MUV) and 44 participants from Cohort 2 MUV started working as assistant chefs.

• 39 EMPACT graduates have started formal employment or started their own businesses, with an employability rate of 35 percent.

• The call for applications for the Socio-Economic Empowerment and Sustainability (SES) program started in 13 provinces across Turkey.

MUV Cohort 1

• 45 graduates out of 173 certified were employed in seven provinces (Adana, Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Kilis,
Mardin and Şanlıurfa), which gives an employability rate of 26 percent.

• 1 participant from Istanbul continued their on-the-job training (OJT) and two more in Istanbul (1) and Izmir (1) started OJT in June.

MUV Cohort 2

• 96 participants completed the vocational training (VET) and OJT modules and obtained their diploma.

• 19 participants continued OJT.

• Seven participants will resume OJT with participants from Cohort 3 in June.

• 44 of the 96 graduates from Cohort 2 started working at their OJT locations. The employability rate of cohort 2 is 24%.

MUV Cohort 3

• 245 participants completed the PF in nine provinces (Adana, Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Kilis, Mardin, Mersin,
Hatay and Şanlıurfa).

• 156 participants sued CTF in June.

Monitoring

• Regular on-site monitoring visits were made to FCE locations.

• The final MUV surveys for cohort 3 have started.

MUV scaling

• The call for applications has been launched in Bursa, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Kocaeli as well as in Sivas and will continue until 11 July.

• Interviews began in Konya and Kayseri on June 16.
The selection process of 50 participants for each province is underway

• The VE is scheduled to start on July 26 and will be followed by provincial kick-off meetings with key stakeholders, local government authorities, selected participants and private sector companies.
