SunExpress will increase the capacity of Izmir

SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, is strengthening its position as Izmir’s main carrier with increased capacity and frequency.

The airline reaches the biggest network expansion in Izmir with a total of 8 new routes and 4000 additional flights in the summer of 2022.

Speaking at the press conference in Izmir, Max Kownatzki, CEO of SunExpress said: “Izmir is our home. As Izmir’s main carrier, we continue to connect Izmir to the world and contribute to the tourism and economy of Izmir and the Aegean region. With the increase in capacity and frequency and the addition of new destinations, we are heading towards our goal of becoming the number one leisure airline in Turkey, bringing the largest number of tourists to Izmir and Turkey.

SunExpress connects Izmir to the most destinations on domestic and international routes. The airline now offers non-stop flights from Izmir to 50 destinations in 18 countries.

This summer, the airline flies to 15 cities in Turkey, including Adana, Antalya, Bodrum, Diyarbakir, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kars, Kayseri, Konya, Malatya, Samsun, Trabzon, Van d’Izmir and its newly launched new destination, Tuesday.

The new international destinations added to the network are Beirut, Milan, Nantes, Manchester, Tel Aviv, Budapest, Skopje.
