More than 40 detained in anti-FETÖ operations in eight provinces

ISTANBUL – Demirören News Agency

As part of the investigation opened by the General Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul, some 42 suspects were arrested during simultaneous operations carried out in 8 provinces against FETÖ.

The office issued arrest warrants for around 60 suspects who were found to have used Bylock and deposited money in Bank Asya with the order of the terrorist organization.

“While 42 people have been arrested, efforts to nab the remaining suspects continue,” a security official said.

The operations took place in Istanbul, the capital Ankara, the northern provinces of Düzce and Samsun, the southeastern provinces of Şanlurfa, the northwestern provinces of Sakarya, Kocaeli and the central Anatolian province of Kayseri.

The recent operations took place because of another operation that took place in January in Ankara. Security units discovered that FETÖ was trying to regroup and restructure inside the country.

The terrorist organization’s new online meeting programs have been revealed.

Ankara’s investigation showed that some FETÖ members set up new companies in the United States and Ireland to fund the organization.

Some 13 of the 29 suspects were apprehended and more than $52,000 was seized.
