NEVSEHIR, July 23 (Xinhua) — No less than 25 special-shaped hot air balloons from 12 countries, including a dinosaur and a clown, as well as 15 classic hot air balloons, filled the skies of Turkish Cappadocia.

The third Cappadocia International Hot Air Balloon Festival kicked off in the Cappadocia region on Thursday and will last for four days.

The festival will host sunrise hot air balloon shows, local tastings and music events, concerts and DJ performances, film screenings, skydiving and laser shows.

The Cappadocia region in central Anatolia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its cone-shaped rock formations and fairy chimneys. Some caves are now used as boutique hotels and houses carved into the rock.
